This past Wednesday Datasmith hosted the final Cloud Workshop in it’s 3 part series. Phil Bracchi, of Ingram Micro, joined us once again to talk further about the cloud. What made this workshop different is that we drew from the audience’s current experiences and industries to customize the presentation. The goal of this workshop was to provide detailed information about how the cloud can benefit your business. The cloud is often a mystery to many business owners. Datasmith is committed to helping you understand how it really works and how it can benefit your business.

Phil Bracchi has been working with Datasmith for many years. He has joined Datasmith for the past two cloud workshops. He began the presentation with a quick recap on what exactly the cloud is and how IaaS functions:

Phil then began relating the benefits of the cloud to various industries in the audience. The possibilities are limitless. How much you do with the cloud depends on your business’ needs, goals, and willingness to make the switch. When you begin to see it as an investment, you will be able to realize the potential the cloud has on operations, customer experience, and long-term success.

Attendees were from the medical, manufacturing, transportation, and education industries. Phil highlighted the various elements the cloud can have an impact on like:

  • Medical:
    • Compliance, security, resiliency, and imaging
  • Warehouse / Distribution:
    • Inventory, ordering, supply chain, logistics, multi-site infrastructure, shipping and reporting
  • Education:
    • Virtual desktops, remote learner support, BYOD, grading, enhanced media options, and security / filtering

The goal of this workshop was to help participants understand how versatile the cloud can be. It grows with your business and can be instantly adapted to meet your needs. It saves time, money, and most importantly improves the operations of your business.
